Congratulations on your election to the Order of the Arrow! Your fellow Scouts have recognized you for your cheerful service and leadership potential. The next step is to complete the Ordeal during Fall Induction Weekend, September 18-20. Over this meaningful weekend, you'll take part in service, reflection, and fellowship that lead to full membership and the right to wear the OA sash.
All elected Ordeal candidates should register and plan to attend the Induction Weekend so that you may complete the Ordeal. A Call-Out will be held on Friday evening at the event, so being called-out prior to the weekend is not strictly required. All dues-paid lodge members may attend the event, and the registration fee is included for Annual Pass holders.
Your Ordeal is designed to be meaningful and challenging. You'll spend much of the weekend outdoors, walking long distances, performing physical service, and following a restricted diet. If you have any permanent medical conditions, physical limitations, or dietary needs that could affect your participation, please email the Ordeal Chairman at ordeal@muscogeelodge.org. Sharing this information early helps us plan accommodations and ensure you have the best and safest experience possible.
You will need the following items at the Induction Weekend:
The schedule begins on Friday night, with check-in starting at 6:30 PM at Stallworth Lodge (shelter next to parking lot). Be sure to bring a bagged supper or eat before arriving. Participants will be assigned to a campsite based on their Chapter affiliation (which will be given to you at the registration table). Bring your own tent or hammock to setup in your assigned campsite. The restrooms and showers will be open and available as they would at any OA event (separate for girls, boys, women, and men). The event concludes on Sunday morning after Chapel and Orientation around 11AM. Parents can wait for their Scout in the parking lot or meet them at Stallworth Lodge.
Your next opportunity to participate in the Ordeal will be September 18-20, 2026 at Camp Coker. Enter your starting address HERE to create a map to 2056 Camp Coker Rd, Society Hill, SC 29593.
