Muscogee Lodge #116

2024 Lodge of the Year

2024 Spring Induction Wknd

Congratulations upon your election as a candidate for the Order of the Arrow. You can take great pride in being selected by your fellow Scouts, but realize that you are now only a candidate for membership. A greater thrill awaits you when you become a member of the Order and are decorated with the Order of the Arrow sash. This happens when you have successfully completed the Ordeal.

Where to go!

Your next opportunity to participate in the Ordeal will be 17-19 May 2024 at Camp Barstow. Enter your starting address HERE to create a map to 117 Camp Barstow Drive, Batesburg, SC 29006.

How to register!

To prepare for this event, you should:

  • Register to attend the Induction Weekend
  • Pay the $55.00 ordeal fee online
  • Bring a copy of your current BSA Health and Medical Record to camp (parts A & B — NO doctor signature required). Download the BSA Health form HERE. Send questions to medical@muscogeelodge.org.
  • Determine how you will get to and from camp. Plan to arrive at camp on Friday evening between 6:30 and 7:30 pm and check-in inside the dining hall. Note: dinner is NOT provided Friday night, so eat before you arrive or bring a bag supper to eat after you check-in.
  • Plan for your travel home on Sunday morning after Chapel and Orientation around 11AM. Parents can wait in the parking lot or meet Scouts under the pavilion by the dining hall.

What to bring!

You will need the following items at the Induction Weekend:

  • Medical Forms: a copy of your current BSA Health and Medical Record to camp (parts A & B — NO doctor signature required)

  • Ground Cloth/Small Tarp

What to do!

A Call-out will occur on Friday night for all candidates who were elected but have not been called-out. Do not worry if you are not sure whether you were called-out – we know who needs to complete this important ceremony.

We want you to have an exciting yet safe experience during your Ordeal. Its tests are physically challenging. You will leave the comforts of home behind you, walk a lot, and exert yourself physically on a restricted diet. If you have a permanent physical or medical problem or dietary restrictions which could limit your participation, please notify our leaders at ordeal@muscogeelodge.org or medical@muscogeelodge.org. We would like to make advance plans so that you can have the very best possible experience.

In the unlikely event you need to reach an emergency contact during the weekend, please call Mason Thomas, Lodge Adviser, at (803) 360-3155 or Scott Hagler, Staff Adviser, at (919) 750-1283.

Where to camp!

Campsites will be assigned after registration closes, so check back to get the latest or find out when you arrive on Friday.
